European Trauma Course

The European Trauma Course In Short:

• The Dutch ETC foundation organizes the European Trauma Course in the Netherlands on behalf of the European Trauma Course Organisation.
• The ETC is a joint program of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), the European society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC), the European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ESTES) and the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EuSEM).
• The ETC is a 2½ day life support course for all medical health care professionals (both physicians and nurses) involved in the acute care of major trauma patients.
• ETC provides state-of-the-art trauma training with a strong focus on teamwork and non-technical skills.
• Candidates are trained in small groups simulating trauma teams working in a trauma shockroom environment.
• Candidates spend 85% of their time at ETC practicing in scenario-based workshops.
• The ETC is certified and accredited by all partner organisations and their national subsidiaries (NVSHA, NVvH and NVA).
