Bone & Tissue day
MegaGen Benelux BV
Bone & Tissue day
BuitenlandThe bone & tissue day is an innovative congress concept to share knowledge in dental hard- and soft tissue regeneration. They are characterized by a combination of theoretical clinical-scientific lectures, and on Saturday, November 15th, we are proud to finally bring this event to Knokke, Belgium, following a long series of successful international editions.
This exclusive event brings together renowned international speakers and leading experts in regenerative dentistry to share their knowledge, experience, and cutting-edge techniques.
Whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding of biomaterials, explore new clinical protocols, or connect with like-minded professionals, bone & tissue day is the place to be.
ABSTRACT
Dr. Giorgio Tabanella
Soft tissue management around dental implants
Placing implants in the aesthetic zone is no routine procedure – it’s an advanced treatment that demands precision and planning. Long-term success depends on maintaining the delicate balance of soft and hard tissue architecture to create natural-looking, stable results. Correct 3D implant positioning is key. But even the best positioning may not be enough.
That’s where biomaterials come in. To recreate a natural “pink aesthetic” that beautifully frames the “white aesthetic,” both soft and hard tissue enhancement is often essential. Innovative materials, including soft tissue grafts, provide reliable solutions for volume augmentation – used alone or in combination with techniques like guided bone regeneration (GBR). With the right tools and techniques, aesthetic implantology becomes not just predictable – but exceptional.
Redefining Bone Regeneration in Implantology: the NOVAMag® product line.
Say goodbye to complex grafting and invasive procedures. Today’s implantology is powered by advanced biomaterials that make bone regeneration predictable and efficient. The latest sticky bone solutions offer unmatched handling, faster healing, and superior outcomes.
Membrane matters? Absolutely. While collagen membranes set the standard, who really wants to remove titanium meshes? Now, biodegradable metal membranes give you long-term barrier function without the hassle of removal. A real game changer in dental regeneration is the NOVAMag® product line. It introduces a new class of synthetic, mechanically robust, yet fully bioresorbable biomaterials that gradually transform into natural bone. This opens up exciting new possibilities in bone regeneration. Designed specifically for alveolar ridge augmentation, the NOVAMag® product line includes the NOVAMag® membrane – a magnesium-based barrier membrane and the NOVAMag® fixation screw, available in multiple sizes for secure fixation of both membranes and bone blocks. NOVAMag® Shield on the other hand, was specifically designed to simplify socket preservation in cases of a missing buccal wall. It’s use is minimally invasive, easy to apply, and designed to maximize results while keeping your patients more comfortable. Clinical experiences, as well as tips and tricks for handling of NOVAMag® will be presented.

Rethinking Staged Bone Grafting: From complications to innovations.
Staged bone grafting remains a cornerstone in managing complex implant cases, yet traditional approaches are often fraught with biological, technical, and patient-related complications. This lecture will critically examine the common pitfalls of the conventional staged grafting protocols and present a contemporary, evidence-based framework to avoid and manage common complications associated with staged bone grafting. Moreover, modern innovations, such as CAD/CAM allograft blocks, the NOVAMag® plate technique, and digital planning in staged bone grafting will be shown. Especially, such modern techniques can be a real alternative to the complex grafting procedures in general dental practices by helping to minimize the risk of dental implant placements in atrophic ridges.

Sinus Floor Elevation: Lateral vs. Crestal: When, How, and the Evidence!
After tooth extraction in the maxilla, pneumatization of the maxillary sinus may occur, leading to a reduction in vertical alveolar bone height. Although dental implants remain the preferred method for tooth rehabilitation, limited vertical bone height presents a clinical challenge. To address this, sinus floor elevation procedures can be performed.
This lecture will explore the decision-making process regarding simultaneous versus staged implant placement in combination with sinus floor elevation. Two primary techniques – the lateral and crestal approaches – will be discussed in detail. Using the latest evidence, we will outline clinical procedures, indications, and decision-making criteria for both approaches.
