MINC Infectieziekten symposium 'De mug op de vlucht'

Algemene doelstelling:
Kennis op het gebied van infectieziekten te verbreden en te verdiepen en deze kennis uit te dragen. Door een multidisciplinaire aanpak wordt ernaar gestreefd om de diverse aspecten die van belang zijn voor de kennis van infectieziekten aan de orde te laten komen.

Mosquito on the run
Worldwide mosquitos are an important vector for transferring infectious agents. For example, because of an increase
of holidays to (sub)tropical destinations, an increase of world trade and because of ecological changes, the latter partly
caused by global warming, healthcare in the Netherlands is more and more confronted with "newer" infectious diseases (so called "emerging infectious diseases").
In this MINC symposium some actual aspects of mosquito-transferable infectious diseases will be placed into the spotlights (see programme). The objective is to learn about these ecological forces, the health risks of zikavirus and resistance problems with malaria.
